My own personal experience has shown me just how crucial it is to be prepared and how devastating a lack of planning can be. I only learned this myself through a very personal long-term-care crisis in my own family.
We weren’t prepared for my mother’s end-of-life care needs. It was only then that I realized most people are equally unprepared for this challenge emotionally, physically and financially.
After my mother passed, my father fell and also needed around-the-clock care. He moved in with me while he recovered, and I became responsible for his caregiving and financial support. These experiences showed me how a well-thought-out plan can bring peace of mind, comfort and dignity without financial burden and help see families through difficult times.

Where I grew up in the far south suburbs of Chicago, I saw the need for financial planning to provide both health care and retirement savings. I was lucky to have been raised in a very wholesome environment that focused on family, education, spiritual understanding and giving back to society through charitable work.
My Life on the Stage
I was also introduced to the performing arts at a young age. As an accomplished actor, dancer and singer, I performed professionally since the age of eight in radio, television print media and on the stage. By the time I was 18, I was inducted into the Screen Actor’s Guild, the American Federation of Television and Radio Arts, and Actor’s Equity.
After attending the University of Illinois on a dance scholarship, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree and continued to work in the performance arts until I had my first child.
Family and friends are always a big part of my life, and I also find time to enjoy the outdoors, and work out at least four times a week with Yoga, Zumba or other cardio dance classes.
My three sons are growing into young men now, and I strive to pass the legacy my parents bestowed on me forward to them. I am a strong advocate of “The Golden Rule” and treat everyone with equality and respect. I hope my epitaph will be: “She always saw the cup as half full rather than half empty, and believed in helping others and ‘paying it forward.’”

I hope to teach some of my core beliefs by example through my work helping people meet their health care needs. Simply put, I believe that business should always do what is in the client’s best interest first and foremost, and provide solutions as we would for our own family.
Advisors should listen intently to clients’ concerns and develop a thorough understanding of their circumstances. Only then, can we educate people to their options and present solutions tailored for their unique needs.
As a long-term care specialist, I must stay current on the best opportunities that can help you meet your current and long-term need for health care. I learned a great deal about this when I dealt with my parents’ situation, but it wasn’t until I joined the ColoHealth team that I had the resources I needed to really become an expert in this area.
