Essay Contest: $500 Scholarship Prize

ColoHealth is proud to announce our $500 scholarship to the winner of our Fall 2015 essay contest. You can view the winning essay here.

Now it’s time for the 2016 Spring Scholarship essay contest. This award will go to the writer who submits the best essay discussing about the topic listed below. This scholarship award may be used for any purpose the winner feels necessary.

ColoHealth intends on continuing with our scholarship program on a bi-annual basis (consistent with the spring and fall semester) and will keep you up to date on essay contest deadlines and topics.

Current Topic

One of the reasons medical costs are so high is that prices are typically hidden from the consumer. Rarely do hospitals or doctor's offices publish their prices, so it can be very difficult for the consumer to price shop and compare. Some insurance companies have instituted trial programs that give the consumer a percentage of the savings if they find lower-priced medical care. Discuss this or other ideas that can encourage price transparency and competition among healthcare providers.

Submission Deadline

Essays should be received on or before October 30, 2016. We’ll notify our Spring 2016 essay contest winner before the end of November.
