In 2018, Colorado regulators began drafting new regulations for short-term health insurance plans. There was a hearing about the recommended rule changes in early December, and Colorado’s Insurance Commissioner approved the new regulations, which officially became law in January.

Hospitals Regret Cutting Staff and Services – But You Shouldn’t Suffer From Their Mistakes

In an attempt to prepare for ObamaCare’s implementation in January, many small businesses across the nation are taking drastic measures – such as eliminating employees and cutting hours – in an attempt to keep their heads above water once proposed costs start to hit. Much to the surprise of many, hospitals followed suit. One hospital in Kansas City, Missouri reportedly cut 120 jobs last year and eliminated transportation for their elderly patients entirely. Another clinic in Cleveland, Ohio reportedly cut $250 million dollars out of its $6 billion dollar budget by closing half of its maternity wards, cutting staff and reducing hours. Both of these hospitals are taking these drastic measures in that hopes that if costs do skyrocket, they’ll not only be ready, but they won’t even be affected. read more
